We've been told that the Snoqualmie Falls about 5 miles away can be heard from our front doorstep. I heard them this morning for the first time - it sounded like a truck barreling down our lonely road. What an awesome sound compared to the sirens back home. Every day I am amazed by the beauty of it all.
